I remember we talk abot this some message ago, but I did not found the thread:

can neooffice open a invisibile window at startup (like mozilla does) to prevent to quit it closing last active window?

often I close a window and I after realize it was the last one, so I have to relaunch neooffice.

This feature request has been discussed ad nauseum in these fora and Bugzilla.

The simple answer is it is a huge amount of work and so I am not going to implement it in Neo/J 1.1.
