Hi people,

I've found that when either my machine or NeoOffice is pushed, NeoOffice will drop some keystrokes.

E.g. If I'm doing something in NeoOffice which has been processor intensive, then immediately select Command-C, the copy command won't be executed (the menu doesn't flash, the clipboard isn't replaced). A second or third copy will be successful.

If I do everything slower (perform action, pause, new action), there's no problem.

It's not a matter of NeoOffice needing time to catch up, the keystroke actually seems to be getting black-holed.

This has been exacerbated this weekend as I've been running Retrospect backups, which suck up all spare CPU.

Is this expected? A known bug?

NeoOffice/J 1.1 Release Candidate Patch 8.

Cheers

I think this is a known OOo bug and has been reported repeatedly on the website of OOo. They say that it is fixed in version 2.0, but since that is not the basis for NeoOffice yet, the bug is not going to be fixed. See bug 800 in Neo BugZilla

There's also the bug (although I thought Patrick had fixed it; maybe I'm remembering everything wrong, though) where you have to release the command key briefly before performing another command.

In certain circumstances, I can still have problems (cmd-space fails to repsond sometimes, usually when I've switched to the wrong keyboard and want to switch to the right one), and in some copy-cut-paste sequences. But I can't figure out how to make it reproducible (and it's not load-related for me)....

I'll add a me too to this one - com-x, com-v, com-c etc sometimes require me to repeat the key stroke to get it to work.
