This might be considered a newbie-question, even though I worked with OpenOffice for quite some time now, but recently i switched platforms, so now officially I am a "NeoOffice newbie" ...

My problem appears to be simple: how to make protected dashes, so that words like "hm-hmm" are NOT separated if at the end of a line.

According to the help files, (SHIFT)+(CTRL)+(-) should work, but it does not ...

any help would be appreciated!

thanks a lot in advance,

Ulfster

interestingly enough, this works fine if I use the Dvorak-Type-II (German) keyboard layout, but I get a " _ " if I try to do that under normal QWERTZ layout.
and since my wife has the same problem, but has not switched to Dvorak (yet), the problem remains ...

Thank you for your support so far!
cheers,
Ulfster

Just tried this with NeoOffice 1.2 beta 3 and it works. Try this:

Press the Apple (command) and the Left Shift key together and then the hyphen key.
