Hi,

I've installed NeoOffice from 1.1 to 1.2 through all alpha and beta patches all works fine. On 1.2 i've installation problems on patch 2, 3, & 4.
When the installation packages start and check If it can run I got this message:
"One or more BSD commands were not found on this machine. You must install the "BSD Subsystem" package that is in the following folder on disk 1 of your Mac OS X installation CD: /Welcome to Mac OS X/Optional Installs"

and the installation package ends.
I've an iBook G4, (1.2Gb, 1,2Ghz) and on the original installation disks I've not found that folder.

Any suggestions? Best Regards, Rico.

Did you change anything with your Mac OS installation since you were upgrading to the last beta patch? Sounds as if you had lost parts of BSD since then?

I've made no changes or new software installations.

Thanks, Rico.

To work around a bug in 10.4.x, beginning in Patch-2 Patrick changed one of the commands used in the installation process. Apparently this command is missing from some installs for some reason Sad

There are two ways to deal with this: 1) do a complete reinstall of your OS Sad or 2) extract the missing command (gnutar) from the "Base" Mac OS X installation package using Pacifist or a similar app.

Smokey

:sigh: Since Neo/J 1.1 Alpha 1, I think Patrick has had to change the installation commands about 10 different times to work around different bugs in different commands, versions of Mac OS X, and issues with filesystems Sad

Hi Sardisson,

thanks a lot. Your suggestions works perfectly, and now I'm happy with NeoOffice updated. Very Happy

I've switched from Window$ to years ago after about 20 years of development and sadness. This is the first problem (if we can call it a problem) I've on Mac and my iBook is on about 10 hours a day or more (web dev, audio recording, digital photo).

Thanks again four your courtesy and to all people at NeoOffice world.

Rico.
