OK, call me a fanboi, but damnit, I was hoping for *something* on their 30th anniversary. I mean, heck, even a limited edition iPod engraving or something. And here it is, and nothing. First they take away my big endian goodness and now don't announce something cool.

Personally, I was hoping Steve woke up and decided to send you and Patrick lots of fast new Macs and some of his spare change so that Neo development could go faster _________________ "[...] whether the duck drinks hot chocolate or coffee is irrelevant." -- ovvldc and sardisson in the NeoWiki |

Right. What I wonder is when Apple's managers figure out that NeoOffice is taking a large chunk of revenue away from them. Think of it this way: NeoOffice currently has about 150,000 downloads a month (!!!). Let's be conservative and assume that 20% of these people would have bought AppleWorks or iWork if NeoOffice didn't exist. That would be $79 x 30,000 or nearly $2.4 million revenue lost per month that users get to keep. While this is small potatoes for Apple as a whole, this is a significant amount of lost revenue for a single product.

Not to mention there are places that are using Neo across the organization that would otherwise amoutn to site licensing deals...and that it's used by Sun to get site license deals too...and gets sold on eBay by scammers...
Oh, the humanity!

so it is april 3rd and nothing.
i've decided i don't really care anymore. after the 20th mac and now the 30th apple anniversaries went by quietly, it would seem that apple is not concerned with celebrating themselves.
which i suppose is ok. i've decided i am not concerned with apple announcements anymore.
besides, all of that energy can be better spent on neooffice anticipation =D |

I just realized that Apple turning 30 years old makes me feel old. |

Geez.
You young pups don't know what life was like before computers.
A calculator that was small enough to run off a 9volt battery was the high tech toy. |

It didn't win anything with the girls, though. |
