CVS Compile step 7 problem

Guys, I appologize in advance because I am sure this is a dumb questions. Anyway step 7 of the install is:


7. Start the build by invoking the following commands. Note that you should replace $NEO_HOME with absolute path of your workspace's "neojava" directory:

cd $NEO_HOME
make GNUCP=</absolute/path/of/your/gcp/command> PKG_CONFIG=</absolute/path/of/your/pkg-config/command>


I am in the proper directory and I type the following command:
make GNUCP=/opt/local/bin/gcp PKG_CONFIG=/opt/local/bin/pkg-config

but I get this error: make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.

What am I doing wrong?

Okay I guess I was not in the right directory and that was my problem. Thanks!
