In the Save As dialog, there is an option to save as "Aportisdoc", which is a Palm .pdb format. Unfortunately, when I try to save, it gives and error, saying it couldn't write the file. So, I search the help, and find the following...

<quote from help>
Mobile Devices Filters for Pocket Device Appliances
You can save and open documents to and from several mobile devices file formats.
Currently the following filters are available:
AportisDoc for Palm OS compatible devices
Pocket Excel for Pocket PC compatible devices
Pocket Word for Pocket PC compatible devices
Installing the Pocket PC filters under Windows will also install a DLL file that supports the synchronize software of your Pocket PC.

The Java Runtime Environment is required to use the mobile device filters.

Installing the mobile devices filters
1.Close NeoOffice and the Quickstarter.
2.If you are using the Windows opearating system with ActiveSync installed, disconnect any Pocket PC device from ActiveSync.
3.Start the NeoOffice Setup program:
Open the Windows Start button, choose Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs, select the NeoOffice 2.0Alpha3 entry, click Change.
4.In Setup, choose the Modify option and click Next.
5.Open the Optional Components entry, then open the Mobile Device Filters entry. Select the filters you want to install.
6.Click Next, Next, Install, Finish to install the filters and exit the Setup program.
<end quote>

See anything wrong with this? This is a Mac-only program, but they are telling you how to add these filters with the Windows operating system!

So my question goes:

1. Is it possible to add these file save and open filters?
2. How _does_ one go about adding them on the Mac? (I thought I could copy the resources out of OOo into NeoOffice's package, but they are so different, that I dare not!)

TIA.

Actually, this is not the case. We have always that advertised NeoOffice is an implementation of OpenOffice.org that runs natively on the Mac. While OpenOffice.org runs on many platforms, the developers at Sun Microsystems who develop OpenOffice.org work primarily on Windows so many Windows-only features are included in the documentation that we inherit from OpenOffice.org.
