We currently use an Add-in in MS Excel to send queries to our 4D Server and get replies. It uses AppleEvents.

Is there any way to do this using NeoOffice?

It is the main thing preventing our organization from switching over to NeoOffice now that the Aqua version is out.

Thanks,

James.

PS. NeoOffice Aqual beta 3 is awesome! Well worth the wait.

The only way to send AppleEvents would be to actually write your own component. There's no way to send events from the macro language or the like. NeoOffice can receive and respond only to the default open and print document AppleEvents.
