I was making a screen-shot to answer a query in the support forum, and I tried to take an apple screen-shot of the NeoOffice window with the toolbar Paste button's formatted/unformatted menu dropped down.
Using cmd-shift-4 and then hitting the spacebar to switch to 'capture the frontmost window' and then clicking the mouse, the screen capture image I ended up with wasn't of the NeoOffice window, but of just the active dropdown menu!
In the end, I had to use cmd-shift-3 ('capture the whole screen') and then crop the result.
Well, I thought it was funny - I'll try it with a more sophisticated screen-grabber app at some point to get the mouse pointer included, but I wasn't expecting OSX to treat the menu as the frontmost app window!
That's normal behavior for Mac OS X; menus, context menus, etc., are all "child windows". When there are multiple windows/child windows on the screen, you can move the camera cursor to select the window you want

Far out... I guess I've never seen this before because the only menu screenshots I've taken before have been off the main menubar itself, which behaves differently from taking window screenshots.
