|
I'm experiencing some slow downs in some aspects of NeoOffice (especially spell checking) I'm suspicious given other posts here that this is related to my antivirus program (NAV). NAV will let me specify "zones" on my mac to ignore when doing scans, but I'm not sure what files/folders (aside from the app itself) that I need to tell it to ignore.
The wiki says: Quote: | Disable virus scanning of the NeoOffice application and profile directory |
But I don't know what a "profile directory" is!
Any suggestions?

I would assume that you can use the following for the "application" directory:
Code: | /Applications/NeoOffice.app |
and use the following for the "profile" directory:
Code: | ~/Library/Preferences/NeoOffice-2.x |

I've clarified that part of the wiki to say "preferences" instead of profile (and listed the path).
Sorry 'bout that

Thanks Patrick and Smokey!
I've changed the NAV settings, and Neo seems to load faster. The control-clicking on misspelled words isn't any faster, but I'm willing to live with that. If I decide it's worth it, I'll run Activity Monitor or top again and see if I can figure out what's pulling all the CPU power, but it's not a particularly high priority for me.

Just to update-control-clicking on a "flagged" word now pulls up the spell check contextual menu much faster. This seemed to have happened with the last patch (patch . Thanks, Patrick!! |
