Our old friend has posted a message in OOo for mac list saying that OOo 2.1 doesn't work with Java 4 for needs Java 5.
I tested NO 2.1 with Java 5 and don't have Java 4 anymore, so I cannot test it. Is that true? Or is it just related with the Jave version used to compile the sources?
Neo of course runs fine with Java 1.4.2 (it's all we have on 10.3 ), and if I'm not mistaken, one of the fixes Patrick added to 2.1 was to finally allow Intel Macs to use 1.4.2 (previously Intel required 1.5).
I have no idea what sort of incompatibilities TeamOOo has introduced (although OOo/X11 2.1 also seems to run here, to the extent that I check bugs in it).

Their comment only applies to their OOo builds. In contrast, NeoOffice 2.1 builds OOo with the "--with-java-target-version=1.4" configure flag to ensure that all functions will work with Java 1.4.x or higher.
