Call me an idiot, but...
Isn't one of the fundamental points of the "Metal" user interface in MacOS X that you can click-drag anywhere in the metal background to move the window?
I think this is useful. I really do miss the ability to grab an OS 9 Platinum window by any of its rectangular edgs and move the window.
But now 10.3/Panther is using Metal pervasively...and...there may be spots where you can click the "metal" and not be able to move the window. To determine whether I'm smoking crack, of course, you need to be covere by the WWDC NDA, and definitely should refrain from stating whether I'm right or not publicly I could deal if at least the windows might follow traditional "Metal" UI look and feel, not insinuating whether they do so or not currently. I mean, even in 1.0 Safari I can't click-drag on the "metal" of an inactive tab and move the whole window boundary with the drag.
It may be a bad sign when the originators of UI guidelines break or redesign them. Just makes it all the more difficult to try and track the OS when window backgrounds change from striped to God knows what metal
