Hi All,

i would like to connect with Neooffice to our LDAP-Server.

I am using the German Version of Neooffice, so please excuse me, if I translate the menu-items incorrectly.

What I tried:
Adding an Address-Book source (File->Wizzards->Address Source), checked LDAP Repository, filled in the connection details (works with Apple Adressbook.app) an clicked on "Test"

Result:
"There is no driver regitered for URL sdbc:address:ldap:<host>:389!"

Looking into Extras->Options->Neooffice Base->Connctions there is no LDAP Driver. So where can I get one?

My System: Mac Mini (Intel), OS 10.4.9, Neooffice 2.1 Patch5

Thanks for any hint

Hmm...I'm not sure if Base does LDAP style stuff (it really is new territory for me). If you're looking through there, however, you may want to google for any JDBC Type IV drivers that might offer an address book bridge. Type IV drivers (which are pure Java) should work OK.

Good luck in the search!

The OpenOffice.org Base page says it does work with LDAP (I stumbled across this looking for something else). I didn't easily find info to solve your particular issue, though.

Thank you for your answers.

Of course, I can try to use an ODBC/JDBC Driver to connect to the DB behind our LDAP Server. Although that might cause trouble, too, as it is a PostgresQL and I dindn't find any hints for support.

May main point is: in NeoOffice, as in OpenOffice you have got a wizzard, that halps you to connect to a LDAP address source. Everithing is prepared, but finally the programm complains for a non existent driver. That seems a little bit strange to me.
