brief translation:
Potherb asks if it's possible to open a pps file in slide show view? I don't think so (neither for a pps file nor for an odt one), but maybe someone else knows the way to do that?

I think the problem is an OOo problem. I give Potherb the link to the French-speaking forum of OOo.

Excuse my English!

It used to be that, on a Mac, if we received a .pps file, it would open directly into Slide Show presentation mode in M$ Office 98. Equally, if we received a .ppt file, we would simply change the suffix to .pps in the Finder and the same result was achieved. This made it very easy to initiate presentation mode without the author having to create a special Save as .pps copy of the original.

I've never found a way to do similarly with .odp files, perhaps because there's no '.pps' variation equivalent of '.odp'? Sad

That said, hitting keyboard combination fn+F5 is the fastest way I know to launch an open presentation document into Slide Show mode. Just hit the combination as soon as you see the document title appear in the grey top bar of the window. This seems to be the earliest point in the file openeing process when NeoOffice can take and process input from the keyboard. With practice, it looks much slicker than waiting for the whole document to appear and then selecting a menu item or clicking on the relevant toolbar button.

Trust this helps.

Ok thank you indeed, with the software of Microsoft, it is easy D to exchange it, PPT in PPS.
But is precisely definitively to pass to me from this software that I would like to be able to use NeoOffice. The continuation Office of Microsoft, is very slow on Mac with Intel chip.

Still thank you.

Indeed, the combination functions perfectly.
While waiting better, I will preserve this small manipulation.

Thank you.
