In booting up NeoOffice on my MacBook Pro (running Leopard) this morning, I received this error message (below), so I uninstalled the program and downloaded the latest 2.2 version, but received the same message. I'm fairly new to Mac, so please help!
"Either another instance of NeoOffice is accessing your personal settings or your personal settings are locked. Simultaneous access can lead to inconsistencies in your personal settings. Before continuing, you should make sure user 'myname' closes NeoOffice on host 'my first name-middle-lastname-computer.local' Do you really want to continue? Yes or No
I've always chosen 'No," because I don't know what this is all about.
Did NeoOffice crash or did you force quit of it recently? If so, this message is caused by a stray temporary file that has been left around. If you are sure that NeoOffice another instance of NeoOffice is not running on your computer, clicking No is safe.
If you continue to see this message, you can permanently eliminated it by using the following steps. These steps will force NeoOffice to create a new set of user preference files with default values:
