After updating to Patch 8 on Mac Intel running OS 10.5.1, digits that are adjacent to Hebrew or Arabic characters are changed to Hebrew or Arabic characters.

So if typing the character in Hebrew and then typing the number 1, instead of typing 1 it shows again the same character.

If there is a space between the character and the digit, it works well, but if there isn't a space between the character and the digit, NeoOffice changes the digit to character.

It worked well until patch 6, and broke after applying patch 8. The change is not only for new documents, but this also changes old documents as well.

Can you file a bug in Bugzilla for this bug so that we won't forget about it. If you could put a set of specific steps in the bug that we can use to easily reproduce the bug, that will also be very helpful since neither Ed nor I type in right-to-left languages on a day-to-day basis and we want to make sure that we can reproduce the bug easily so that we can fix it correctly.

FYI. I have located the place in the NeoOffice code where this bug is occurring so I'll probably have a fix in the next test patch which will be posted in the next couple of days. So, if you file a bug, Bugzilla will automatically e-mail you when I have the test patch ready for you to try.

FYI. I have posted a test patch with a fix for this bug. Links to the test patch are near the end of bug 2889.

Thanks Patrick, I tested the fix on an Intel machine, and it works fine.
