Sorry to post this here - I'm having trouble getting registered with Bugzilla.
When I have 1.1 Alpha 1 open on a spreadsheet (didn't try with other apps), and I try to scroll up/down on Firefox by clicking on the scroll bar on the right side of the window, Firefox hangs and must be restarted with the Force Quit. Quitting Alpha 1.1 and the restarting Firefox seems to eliminate this problem. I was able to reproduce this bug 3 times on pages from espn.com.
I have a PowerBook G4/1 Ghz/768 Mb, Panther 10.3.5, Firefox 0.9.3.
I installed Firefox 0.9.3 on my wife's Mac OS X 10.3.5 machine and did the following steps:
1. Started Firefox
2. Started Neo/J 1.1 Alpha 1
3. Opened a new spreadsheet document in Neo/J
4. Loaded espn.com in Firefox
5. Scrolled the web page in Firefox
6. Scrolled the spreadsheet in Neo/J
I experienced no hanging at all. Since Neo/J doesn't do anything that explicitly would affect another application (i.e. no AppleEvents, etc.), the most likely suspect is that you are running out of memory. Neo/J is a bit of memory hog and if you have a spreadsheet open with a lot of cells, its memory usage will be even more noticable.
Does this problem occur when you only have Neo/J and Firefox running and you open a small or empty spreadsheet?
Can you try downloading and installing "patch-2"? This patch contains a fix for a bug that I think may be causing Firefox and other applications to hang.
Download and installation instructions for "patch-2" are available here:
