In the first days of Neo/J it was 72 dpi.
Then it evolved to 96 dpi.
With this move to the 1.1 codebase it's 72dpi again.
It's not a bug, rather a feature. If given choice I'd choose 96 dpi or even better a java setting somewhere to fine tune to the display dpi (102 in my case). To be put on whishlist.
edit: For new readers and to save searching this forum, there is an easy workaround for those who wish to see the document at true size when 100%: in Tools->Option then in NeoOffice/J->Display set the scale to the right ration between your display dpi and 72 dpi.
The drawback is that it then change accordingly the size of all UI element.

Ah, that's what's going on there! I wasn't around for those earliest days, so I was really puzzled when I saw the strangely-partially-shrunk UI and filed a bug in bugzilla (some things, like the ruler numbers, appear to still be the same old size, though).
I like the greater information density (I found the "old" 96 dpi to be too large), but the 72dpi is a bit too small on my 17" AlBook. I second Max..if there were a way to user-/screen-adjust the dpi (and not make the rest of the UI look over-/under-whitespaced), it would be a boon.

The patch-3 to Alpha-1 revert to 96 dpi.

Is the display scale factor of the option dialog managed by OOo only, or is it, in some way, used by your java layer? If so, I'd have the request to be able to enter a more precise number here (e.g. 106.5%).

Unfortunately, the scale factor is managed by OOo only and the Java code knows nothing about this scale factor.
