Hi
I was wondering how I would be able to do this.
I have (each (letter/number) in its own box):
3 c z
1 a x
2 b y

How would I go about organizing the 1st column in numerical order and still keep the corresponding letters that are in each row (i.e 1 a x)

And it is not possible to just put in order each column individually.

Because I am organizing shows that go for the columns -> date, venue, city/country, respectively and I need to keep the date with its information.

Please Help!
Thanks.
Bliss
(as you can tell I had no clue how to verbalize what I needed to be done in a couple short phrases, though I tried)

Do the following steps work for you?:

1. Highlight all of the cells that have values in them (in your example, you would highlight 9 cells (3 rows by 3 columns)

2. Select the Data :: Sort menu and in the dialog that appears, set the Sort By field to the first column, and press the OK button

Just in case you didn't know this: if your columns have header labels (i.e. a title row, like 'Date' etc.), include them in the data you select, and then when you go to Data::Sort you can click on the Options tab and check the box 'Range contains column labels'); then when you go back to the Sort Criteria tab to choose the sort order, it'll show those column titles instead of Column A etc., and when it sorts the columns, it'll leave the labels where they should be at the top.
