|
When creating a chart in a Calc spreadsheet, I want to use the values in column A as the Legend labels. Instead, the Legend shows "Row 1, Row 2, Row 3 ...etc" which is useless!
How do I get the legend to show real labels like "Apples, Oranges, Bananas.."??___
I'm using NeoOffice 2.2.5 Patch 4.
Thanks - |

You probably ought to download the latest patch for 2.2.5 from the link to the left (Patch 6)
When you first choose Insert>Chart... you get a window headed AutoFormat Chart. Among the options to select in that first window are First Row as Label and First Column as Label. You need to select either or both of these to get the data in the row/column to appear as a label in your chart.
For a chart you have already created right click or Ctrl click in a blank area of the chart, and from the contextual menu that appears choose Modify Data Range... which will open a very similar window which has the same options.

Bingo!
Thanks, HTH (the right-click method worked, but I will also download that patch).
