Thanks for the quick reply!

How about getting rid of underlines in references to websites? It's driving me mad!

FYI. I have moved your question to a new separate topic in the NeoOffice Support forum as this post was posted in an unrelated topic.

What you are seeing is NeoOffice's "autocorrect" features. You can turn off these features by selecting Tools :: AutoCorrect menu and click on the Options tab. Uncheck the autocorrect options that you want to turn off and press the OK button. There is more information in this NeoWiki article on Disableing Automatic Formatting.

Do these steps stop the autocorrection feature on your machine?

Yes, if I retype the url, then it doesn't come up linked anymore. However, the current links are still there, blue and underlined.

Do I have to retype them all?

You can try this:

Highlight the hyperlink and select NeoOffice's Format :: Default Formatting menu item. You can highlight larger sections of text, or even the whole document if there is only default formatting of those sections.

Does that get rid of the hyperlinks in your document?

You don't need to type them all over again. The solution here is to modify the Internet Link character style.

-With your document open, click on the Styles and Formatting button on the toolbar
-when the Styles and Formatting window opens, click on the character style icon (a page with an A on it)
-Find the Internet Link style in the list (If the list is long, set the drop-down at the bottom of the window to Applied Styles)
-Control-click or right-click on this style and choose Modify...
-In the Character Style window that appears, make the desired changes, and click OK.

Note that this will only change the style for the current document. You will need to make this change in each existing document. (Unless there's a method I don't know).

But if you set up a default Writer template with this style, you can make sure that the Internet Link style is the way you want it for all new documents. See Setting the Default Style for more information.

If you cannot find that toolbar button, try selecting the Format :: Styles and Formatting menu. It will display the same dialog that the toolbar button displays.
