Patch 6 installer hangs while running installer's script, in installation report it returns thousands of lines like those:

Aug 10 15:33:55 host runner[1999]: postflight[2009]:
Aug 10 15:33:55 host runner[1999]: postflight[2009]: Il testo inserito non è corretto. Digitate "sì" o "no":

Please fix this, maybe Neo won't work after this, I'll let you know.

Update: after all, Neo says it has Patch 6, but installation has to be force quitted, otherwise it would take forever.

Same problem here. It even filled /var/system/log/install.log and made it rotate:
newsyslog[4959]: logfile turned over due to size>100K. I had to "force quit" the installer…

I cannot reproduce this. I installed Patch 6 several times without a problem before releasing it so I do not know what error is occurring.

Can you tell me what Mac OS X version you are using?

Also, a question for tahtahtah: what language is Mac OS X set to?

I just tried reinstalling with my Mac's language set to Italian and the patch installs fine. However, since you are seeing a "yes or no" question in Italian in your log, I suspect that that is part of the problem. So, I need to find out what is causing that particular line in the log to be Italian instead of English.

To do that, can both of you launch the /Applications/Terminal/Utilities application, copy the following command into the Terminal window, press the Return key, and paste the output into this forum topic?:

Although I still cannot reproduce this problem, I was able to figure out what is happening from the log messages in your post. The cause of this bug is the updated version of Sun Microsystems' Presentation Minimizer extension that we bundled with NeoOffice 3.0 Patch 6 to fix a crashing bug that we found in the version that we bundled in NeoOffice 3.0.

During patch installation, we suppress the Sun Microsystems extension to install without displaying their unnecessary "this is LGPL software, do you agree to this license?" From your log messages, this license agreement question is not getting suppressed. Force quitting the installer does no harm and will only disable that one extension.

To fix this problem, I will modify that extension's code to permanently suppress display of the license agreement question. I will do this today and release NeoOffice 3.0 Patch 7 with the fix tonight to ensure that no more people run into this problem.

Just for the record: my system version is 10.5.8 (with all patches), Swedish as main language (both user level and system install). The error messages in the log file are in Swedish.

Just to confirm, does Patch 7 fix the problem for you?
