If I remember correctly, the Mac OS X keyboard shortcut for window switching in an application is Command-<. Working with several open NO documents, I've just realized that I can no longer use this shortcut, there's simply no visible action. The problem is reproducible for all kind of application windows on my Mac, not just NO.
Can I somehow restore the Command-< shortcut?

It depends on which keyboard you're using (or which language). In UK English, for example, it's cmd-` - so it may be that you've changed your keyboard? What's your 'home language' in OSX?

I have been able to identify the reason for the shortcut problem thanks to your questions – I use Swiss German and Japanese as input methods. After some playing with the input method configuration, the keyboard shortcut is available again.
You saved my day!
