Hi everybody,
I thought I got rid of it with my switch from Microsoft Word to Mac / NeoOffice years ago. Maybe it creeped in again with the last NeoOffice version (I use 3.0 patch 7).
NeoOffice overwrites its master's (=me) input into a table cell and changes the first letter into a capital letter.
How can I tell NeoOffice: "Never do that again!"? When I want a capital letter I write one. _________________ servus, tschau, bye

I haven't tried this, but I think what you need to do is choose Tools::AutoCorrect and click the Options tab. Unselect the check boxes for 'Capitalize first letter of every sentence'. Obviously this does more than just disable the capitalisation in table cells... _________________ MacBook Pro

Please let us know if James3359's steps do not work. They should work, but if not we can try having you clear your user preference files.
I suspect that you disabled that autocorrect function in NeoOffice 2.2.x but NeoOffice 3.x has its own separate user preference files. If my theory is correct, then when you upgraded to NeoOffice 3.x, NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org code did not import your autocorrect options from your NeoOffice 2.2.x user preferences and you got the default setting for that option.

The recommended step worked.
Do I remember it correctly I thought there are to separated options:
- Capital letter at the beginning of a sentence
- Capital letter in every cell of a table.
I don't want either one.
I guess that's what I have accomplished now. Thank you. _________________ servus, tschau, bye

(I suspect that NeoOffice treats each cell in a table as a separate sentence - requiring its own capital letter). I think you have accomplished what you want. _________________ MacBook Pro
