|
NeoOffice 3 includes support for opening .wpg (WordPerfect Graphics) files via ooo-build (OOo 3.0.1 cannot open said file), but you can't insert them via the Insert: Picture: From File menu, because .wpg is not in the list of extensions the OOo code knows about. You can open the file via drag-drop on the NeoOffice icon, however. I don't know if this can be fixed just by editing a list of extensions somewhere or if there's more complex integration that ooo-build needs to perform.

I will take a look at this. I already started distribution of NeoOffice 3.0.1 Patch 2 to the mirrors so if I find a fix, it will be in a "post-Patch 2" test patch.

I have found the reason that you do not see the .wpg extension in the Insert :: Picture :: From File dialog: the .wpg file format is not an image format but is, instead, a document format like Draw's .odg file format.
Since .wpg is a document file format, not an image format, to insert a .wpg file into a Writer document you need to select the Insert :: Object :: OLE Object menu, and in the dialog that appears, select the "Create from file" option, select your .wpg file, and press the OK button.

Thanks, Patrick.
It's obviously not urgent, since we can ultimately open via as an entirely new document by drag-drop and then paste into the final destination, but it's the first real bug I've discovered in so long, I did want to make sure to report it

I think you did not see my last post. There is no bug here. Novell's engineers only wrote a Draw document importer for that file format. They did not write a general image importer for that file format.

Indeed, I managed to cross-post with you and miss your post.
Bizarre, but thanks for looking into it.
