I have just got Neooffice, which looks promising, but for some reason, selected text reverses out in black, which I hate, instead of the usual light blue. I can't see in Preferences how to alter it. _________________ Nina Hall, science writer
See this thread for an explanation of why the highlight colour in NeoOffice is not the same as the OSX highlight colour, and what you can do about it (in Calc, anyway) - see the 2nd page for details of a Terminal command to switch on system highlight colouring in Calc.
Unfortunately, I have bad news. While yoxi's post mentions that native selection color is available in Calc, I suspect that you are using Writer or Impress and the bad news is that there is no ability to change the selection color in Writer or Impress documents.
The reason for this limitation is that NeoOffice 3.0.1's underlying OpenOffice.org 3.0.1 code only had support for native selection color in Calc documents. OpenOffice.org did eventually add the native selection color feature in Writer and Impress, but not until OpenOffice.org 3.1.
We will eventually upgrade to the latest OpenOffice.org and at that time native selection color will be available in Writer and Impress. However, upgrading to a newer version of OpenOffice.org is a massive effort so that upgrade will not likely happen until some time in 2010.
