The ability to alphabetize lines of text by the first word of a line (and thus create alphabetical lists) would be a very useful function for me in Neooffice writer. It existed in my old Corel program.
Someone did tell me there was a free program that you could download that would enable you to do this. If anyone knows what that program is, I would appreciate the info!
Thanks. |

Copy the text to Calc (should be 1 paragraph per cell, do not use text wrap), sort the list up or down (depending on preference), copy back..
Best wishes,

This feature already exists in Writer as of NeoOffice 3.0.2 and you don't need to use Calc to use this feature.
To sort on the first word of each paragraph in Writer, select the paragraphs to sort and then select the Tools :: Sort menu. In the dialog that appears, leave the settings unchanged and press the OK key to sort alphabetically and in ascending order.
Do the above steps work for you?
