While working in NeoOffice, we found that when opening or closing a document while running the Mac App Store version on macOS Big Sur, NeoOffice would pause for a second or two.

We traced this pause to Apple's NSDocumentController class. Unfortunately, we cannot avoid using this class as it is needed for iCloud file coordination and native versions support but we have implemented a fix that appears to significantly reduce this pause.

You do not need to wait until the next NeoOffice release to get the fix. You can get the fix now by downloading and installing the following test patch:
