I've started this thread so that we can report which specific users are spamming the wiki (so that Jake doesn't go delete everybody this time).
Jake, will you watch/subscribe to this topic so you can get notifications of new spammers to delete?
First one is Aa.
Thanks to Val1984 for cleaning up after said spammer.
Probably a couple of other newly-registered accounts are spammers, too, but let's keep a close watch on things rather than deleting people wholesale

OK, Jake's got blocking working now, so I can block spammers when they show up (until Jake can delete them). Thanks Jake!
See Special:Ipblocklist for the current list of blocked spammers.
Let me know if there are any we've missed and I'll block them, too
This is the beginning of the end for the NeoWiki spammers! 
(and just in time, too; see this (already deleted) for the boldness of our spammers)

actually, i updated the wiki to 1.4.9, rather than wait for 1.5 to come out. and found some other options i'll look into as well.
glad the block works.
i _think_ i know what is going on with the database. more to follow when i know for sure. |
