Hello,
I have display issues of some bullets when opening Word document in OpenOffice (either 1.x or 2.0), they are displayed like blank squares (something like that: [] ) instead of the normal bullet.
I tried importing all the fonts I could find (Mac fonts (with fondu), MS Windows TTF fonts from a windows machine...etc), I tried to find where I can change the font used for imported bullets (but didn't really find it)...etc, and
I've searched all the net to find a clear explaination to solve this issue, but I didn't find one (only some very vague tips).
Anyone have a solution for that? And if yes, is it possible to have a clear explanation to solve it?
PS: As far as I could see, this issue doesn't exist with Windows version of OpenOffice, and also exist with NeoOffice/J.
Personnally I found a solution. As it's a font issue, the solution, as long as the issue remains, is to avoid using certain Mac fonts that won't be displayed fully currently like Symbol.dfont. So, for OpenOffice X11, if you already converted these fonts to truetype and made them accessible to OpenOffice, just remove the converted fonts and use the Windows's TTF version instead (to get from a Windows machine).
For NeoOffice/J, as it read directly the fonts from OS X Fonts directories, it sadly also needed to deactivate the Mac versions system widely (temporaly if you need them on other progs) via FontBook.
