I downloaded OpenOffice 2.0 RC3 dmg a while back (X11). When I install, I click through the install options, but then the installer drops just to writer. Whenever I click the Open Office icon in applications, it also only opens to writer. How do I access or install the other applications? Writer's great, but to replace Office I need Calc, Impress etc!

To access the other applications, simply open a File>New>Spreadsheet or Presentation etc.

FWIW, the OpenOffice.org 2.0 release is still in development and is only really for beta testers at present. In other words, I would not recommend it as a replacement for anything just yet. If you wish to use a stable version of OpenOffice.org then you should try either OpenOffice.org 1.1.2 for X11, or NeoOffice/J 1.1. Personally, I would recommend NeoOffice/J as it will allow you to do nifty things such as:

as well as having far better integration with OS X.

Like JKT said, using the 'new' button offers the other aspects.

Unlike MS Office, where the office programs are individual, OpenOffice.org is one big program.

oh, duh! So obvious! Smile Proves how much of a MS Office mindset I'm in.

I might give Neooffice/J a go... it would be nice to have dock integration (though I'm using X11 a lot lately for fink-installed apps).
