It is unfortunate that OS X's implementation of X is so in your face.... I want student to be able to run OOo 2.x but do not want a root xterm to remain on the display so the kids won;t have something more to play with... I see no reason why there has to be a root xterm, I am sure that somewhere buried in the Applemess is a script that is running an xterm anytime you start X11.... so does anyone know how to a) disable this feature in tiger and b) hide X11 so that it does not show up on the dock or the menubar.
