When I click on Preferences under the Neooffice/J menu it doesn't open. It doesn't do anything..

I'm tring to make neooffice my default word processor on Mac OS. When I try to open up a doc it'll open up that annoying Do you want to purchase microsoft word menu! ughh...

It seems you are using NeoOffice/J 1.1, and that bug was fixed in a Neo/J patch in late June. Although our current release is NeoOffice 1.2 Alpha, you can still download Neo/J 1.1 Patch-3, which includes this fix, here: Patches for Neo/J 1.1.

Note that for the stable patch, you want the "plain" Patch-3, not Patch-3-With-Java...(which includes major changes that also appear in NeoOffice 1.2 Alpha).

Alternatively, you can access the Preferences by choosing "Options" from the "Tools" menu (the evil windows way Wink) without installing the patch.

I tried the patch-3 link, but didn't work. So i'm dowloading neooffice 1.2
So, i'll see how that works.
I'm running mac os, so don't have the options tools path, i don't think..

Be sure to download and install the latest NeoOffice 1.2 Alpha patch after you install Neo 1.2 Alpha so that you get all of the latest bug fixes. The latest patch is here:

The correct path is Tools then Options. This does work.
