I saw this on MacInTouch this morning and thought it might be relevant to some who post here with Java problems:
Quote:
Tracy Valleau warns about an AppleScript addition that is causing some problems:
I've identified a problem with 24Uemail scripting addition that I want to mention. (I should note that I did send the report off to the developer a couple of days ago, too.)
The presence of the 24Uemail osax in the Scripting Additions folder causes various Java errors. Specifically, the Encyclopaedia Britannica will not mount, claiming not to find a (obviously present) folder; Pathfinder will fail to verify disc burns if it is running in the background; and a Java test program written by Jon (developer of Default Folder, who graciously helped track this down) shows errors in the run log with a simple Java app. (I'm using 10.4.5 on a Quad.) I'd suggest, therefore, that users remove 24Uemail if it is not in use.
