Just curious if copy and paste is possible between X11 and OS X apps? It seems I can copy and paste between OpenOffice and BBEdit, but not to other apps unless I first paste into BBEdit.

In general, it's not possible to copy and paste betwen X11 and other OS X apps as X11 apps don't use Mac formats like styled text or graphics. The Mac has a very nice system of identifying what's on the clipboard and what format it is. Unfortunately, X11 has no such standard and as a result has very weak clipboard support.

Apple X11 provided some glue for getting plain text copy and paste to work, but to really get good integration with the OS X clipboard will require custom work to be done in OpenOffice.org...kinda like what Patrick's doing for Neo/J Smile
