Question - I've seen references here to a Jaguar-compatible build of OOo1.1.1 that does NOT have the libfreetype error. I have downloaded ooo111fix3rc1.dmg, which installs on my 10.2.8 system but won't start (libfreetype issue). After much searching, I have found the Tech Preview, but it is Panther only.
Does a Jaguar-compatible binary exist that doesn't have the libfreetype issue, and if so, where might one find it?

The "Tech Preview" installers that Kevin are putting together are currently only for Panther systems. There are no installers available for Jaguar.
Kevin's been running off and doing the tech preview installers on his own and has decided to support Panther only. I understand his logic and the like. If you're a Jaguar or (gasp) earlier user, unfortunately you'll have to make your own builds at this time.
The OOo 1.1.1 Fix 3 installer I put together here was both Jag/panther compatible, but 1.1.2 came along and now I have to restart my installer work and compile yet again with a new version.
