The wisdom of the Sumerians and the Mayans has taught us that base 10 is not the way. We must live in base 60 or, since zero is too Arabic for our modern tastes, base 6. After all, even "fit" persona have a "6 pack", not a "10 pack".

<cue nerd alert>
Of course, in base 6, a 6-pack does not exist. It would be a 10-pack.

Have a good weekend,

Actually, as an aussie I am rather aghast myself at certain recent acts of my country's gov't [along with English & American gov'ts] Sad That's the trouble with national stereotypes; we get labelled with foibles we may not share with the brasher voices among our countrymen Wink And of course Napoleon himself was not really French. so we shouldn't consider Naopleonic acts as typically gallic...that's what is wrong with generalisations*: they are never completely accurate

NeoOffice? What is that? Insert <rant here> dot!

It looks like we are still ... personnae non grata, and probably will remain so. Confused
It's not as much of a problem with all the blogs, news reports, and such that mention NeoOffice.
<rant> At least you can really download NeoOffice </rant>

Just saw a short mention of NeoOffice 2.Oh! Aqua Beta3 ... < in MacAddict? > for a good, free Office suite software. Exclamation

Philip ( happy to have a real Office Suite running on Real Mac OS X - sweet! Wink )

the only way would be to abandon neooffice all together and patrick and ed to work for eric on an 'aqua' version of openoffice.org.

if there are other ways, i am unaware of them.

well, except the ones that involve ninjas, but those are a given.

Dude, their corridors are over 30 miles long. I think that's out of the range of your average ninja.

Roy,
As the other comments state - not much we can do about "Personae non gratae". Sad

1. - WHAT we can do, is to work to make NeoOffice on the Mac the best tool that it can be - Testing, reporting problems/bugs, Helping Patrick and Ed any way we can, donations, and supporting NeoOffice users with helpful, and polite, advice. (note to Roy, your efforts on the fora and Wiki have been an outstanding HELP!)
2. - Also let us know when you see NeoOffice mentioned in web pages, magazines, and such. Every mention means more exposure. and sometime wrong "assumptions" need to be corrected (ie - NeoOffice is NOT written in Java, etc Wink )
3. -OH! and sharing NeoOffice with anyone that is looking for a Great Office Suite running on the Macintosh. Users will migrate to the Office Suite that provides them the best tool for their tasks. It may not be for everyone, but there are LOT of MS Office users who are looking better solution, on their Macintosh.

<rant?>example - the OOo Mac Porting list is now having strong discussions about the problems of having a 3 month release schedule. New software, with flaws, is worse than having an older version that is well tested.
Sounds like what Patrick and Ed have been saying all along! Rolling Eyes <rant?>

Philip ( Likes what he sees with NeoOffice 2.OH! Wink )

Thank you, Jake, Ed and Philip. There'are many things that I didn't know: I have to read ALL this topic.
I said that I only use NeoOffice for MAC (in Windows I'm very happy with my WP but they don't have forums or ways to help them...) and from the next week I will proove a computer with linux and only free-software for the religious congregation where I work here in Rome.

1. I will continue help here (and asking for help...) but all the other things I want to do go wrong:
a. I didn't receive the user of the Wiki yet! Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad
b. I tryed to send the spanish translation of two pages of "planamesa", and the mails that I send go back (to openstep at neooffice dot org and pluby at neooffice dot org) and seems that the PM to Ed didn't go out from my PM on this fora.

2. I will do and also write an article to other fora (my other user is capellancastrense...)

3. I will.

I will continue the "discussion" on ranting, like Ed wants!
Greetings from Rome for you all!

the biggest thing is to take the higher road.

yes we rant, or make jokes, but in the end we aren't out to erase openoffice.org and make everything neooffice.
