I have attempted several times to run the Patch12 - Intel installer and each time it stalls when it gets to the select destination screen with no drives showing. Activity monitor shows the installer still using 1.2 to 1.5% of the CPU but no matter how long I wait, it doesn't get beyond that screen.

I have downloaded the installer twice, run the installer from a clean test account, run it with the login items turned off, all with the same results. This is on an 20" iMac Core Duo with 2 GB of RAM and 146 GB available on the hard drive.

The Patch 12 -PowerPC installer worked perfectly on two older Macs, but I can't get this one to run. Any suggestions?

The Apple installer is known to hang when probing all of the volumes on your system if any of your volumes are unreadable.

Try opening each of the volumes on your desktop in the Finder. Once you can open all volumes, then try rerunning the installer. If opening any volumes causes the Finder to hang, you have found the cause of the problem and you might need to reboot to force Mac OS X to unmount the offending volume.

We need to add this to the Installation Issues article in the wiki.

I did this. Fr/De/It/Es folks will need to translate the pasted section in their Installation Issues page (and then update the link on their NeoOffice Support page to point to the newly-translated section title).
