This is something that's been bugging me for a while, but I didn't get around to reporting it until now. For some reason, when the system language is set to Japanese, the UI font gets all wonky. I've linked to two pictures illustrating the problem.

There seems to be excess blank space above every line that uses a Japanese font. As you can tell from the OK button in the About window, even English-only strings use the Japanese UI font (Osaka?) so at least things look consistent.

About box (32KB)
Full screen (188KB)

I'd be interested in knowing if there is an easy fix for this, as the same problem happens in Firefox (#170854, #233781, and possibly more) and it has gone a long time without a fix.

The Hiragino fonts used to do the same thing until I put in a fix for those fonts. If you select one of the Hiragino fonts, you should see those fonts vertically centered in the line.

Looks like I need to add the same fix for Osaka. It is too late for the upcoming 0.8.4 release, but let me know if any other fonts need fixing and I will add the fix in the first 0.8.4 patch.
