The OOo Mac porting team has released an updated timeline on 03/24. It looks like they have decided to integrate NeoLight in their first public Alpha. I was under the impression that they intended to create their own plugin for Spotlight, but it's a good thing that they don't duplicate efforts (especially when there are no licensing issues) Smile

Of course, people installing both NeoOffice and OOo Aqua alpha will probably experience issues with the plugin (although they may already know that) ...

grin,

I saw this on a task list a while ago. There was "much discussion" until it was (repeatly) pointed out that there no licensing issues, the work was already done, and it W O R K E D! Brought a smile to my face. Rolling Eyes

I'll not assume they other ... issue, until it actually is implemented. Twisted Evil

At least someone is looking to reuse what is available.
Maybe next they will implement some ooo-build code updates? <rant - sorry? >

Well, I hope they get it done it that time. I saw a message on their mailing list the other day and they are just getting their head into timers. That single little word 'refresh' that is in their todo list may make life unpleasant, if Patrick's experience is anything to go by.

Best wishes,
Oscar

Yes, installing side by side two plugins that claim the same file types is not something that Spotlight handles well. That's Apple's architectural problem, not either of ours.

As long as they properly exorcise all trademark references in the code I say go for it. It's not my fault they focus on fluff first and ignore the elephant sitting in the room. I'm glad I'm no longer associated with that tripe.
