Polish completed!

Just two comments/questions:

1) (for native English speakers) "to see the state of progress of this project." this phrase feels awkward to me, in part because of the two "of"s close together. But I can't figure out a better way to say it. Any ideas?

2) At the end, where you mention pasting it into a Writer or Impress document, should we mention that charts pasted in to Writer/Impress will not automatically update?

Thanks for the work on this, Jacqueline!

We can (perhaps we must?). I don't know if there is a way to link the chart in Writer or Impress to the chart in Calc in order to update it automatically Question

I got an e-mail from the wiki system this morning, alerting me to a change on the Tips and Hints page, and I figured I had time to quickly polish.

In terms of the updating chart, You can do it by inserting an linked OLE object, but it is a bit of a pain to keep the focus on the chart, unless the chart is in the upper left hand corner of the top sheet.

There's a post about it here

It's also on the "New Articles Needed" page in the wiki, but the article has yet to be written (not even a stub page exists at the moment.)

Thanks, Lorinda.
I checked Peter's method and it works fine (only checked in Writer).

I'll try to write a new article as soon as I get a chance, because I know that you are very busy with the Resources page Wink

May I add a small comment? Rolling Eyes

You two are AMAZING in your contributions! Shocked
I understand that all this writing and editing takes time and "I" really appreciate your efforts.
It's so exciting to see new ideas and articles being added to the Wiki.

Philip ( Just thought I would ... heap praise upon your efforts. Wink )

I'm trying to write a new page about Inserting charts in Writer or Impress. And I noticed the following :
If in Calc you insert the chart on a new sheet (different from the one which contains the data), and if you place it at the top left of this sheet, it is unnecessary to adjust the size of the object OLE, i.e. to use the scroll bars to reposition the diagram. It's a bit easier to update the chart.

That's interesting. My memory is that when I tried doing that, the OLE reverted to the top left corner of the first/top sheet after updating. In your tests, is the chart on the first sheet or the second sheet?

If (when) it's possible, I put the chart alone on the second page.
I say "if it's possible" because if you have only a few data, e.g. four lines of data, the inserted OLE is to small and sometimes (but not always!) it's impossible to display it correctly. In this case, you have to insert the chart and the data on the same page, then copy/paste the chart on a new page.

I'll try to explain that clearly Wink (in French, no problem but in English it'll be a bit more difficult and you will have to do some "polish" Rolling Eyes )
