This may be impossible due to OpenOffice's lack of grammar check, but would it be possible to tap into 10.5's? This is still one thing that MS Word has over a lot of excellent alternatives.
Hmmm... thinking now, this is probably a much different task then just taping into the OS X spell checker library.
Interestingly, LanguageTool supposedly works as an extension to OO already. When I tried running it in neo, it complains and won't launch. Do extensions not work or is it specific to this one?

I've noticed in OOo 2.1 on the Mac that some older extensions won't load with the extension manger. I am not sure why, but IIRC OOo 2.2 should be a bit more tolerant of older extensions.
