Looking for help.

• When trying to start OO1.1.2 from the terminal window inside X11 the shell returns a bus error.
• I attempt to launch according to the instructions provided in the README except after setting the environment variables I use the command ./soffice & rather than sh soffice ( I have tried sh soffice to but the launch fails with no status message).
• I had to install using the new admin account tip posted in the FAQ.
• I installed after deleting my 1.1.1 install, which I had installed over 1.0.3.
• I experienced no problems launching either of the two previous versions.
• I deleted the 1.1.1 .sversionrc file. A new .sversionrc has been created.
• I have attempted to launch from both the install account and my regular user account with the same results.

I am attaching a snippet from the console log from the last launch attempt.

Thank you in advance.

Interesting...it seems to be crashing in the input method. What language are you using? Also, which X11 environment are you using (Apple, or XFree) and what version? I've never seen crashes in the input method, but then again I don't use many locales other then english and french.

I use the English operating system, although I also use Japanese from time to time and have the input method enabled but not active. Your post gave me an idea to disable kinput2 in my .xinitrc file but I still get the same behavior at launch. I use Apple X11 version 1.0.

Also, Japanese input is not enabled for the user I created to intall OpenOffice and I still get the same launch behavior if I try to start it from that account.

Strange. If all of those auxiliary programs are disabled then I would expect Apple X11 to mimic the US English setup. I'm busy doing backups right now, but I'll try enabling the Japanese locale on my machine tomorrow and see if I can figure anything out.

If you're planning on inputting Japanese text or using the Japanese input method however, you may want to get the "ja" localized installer. That version has the correct code to work with the Japanese input method. The English OOo 1.1.2 IA installer is known to not work with Japanese input methods, and this may be one of the sources of your problem.
