Looking GOOD!

The use of COLOR is outstanding. Shocked
It looks like the Rotate.gif is giving you some problems.

Nice. The color on the copy icons will really help people, I think. A fantastic and familiar user experience really only occurs through the attention to subtle details. Thanks for taking the time and effort to look into these Smile

Again, let me or Patrick know when you think things are stable and should be included in the build. Again, unlike icons, we'll need those "hot spot" coordinates in addition to GIFs if they differ in position from the standard set that you've seen. If changing just fills or frills it should be fine, but for some like the refhand.gif one (was that the pseudo-OK one?) we'll also need the pixel coordinates of the new spot that people use to "grab" something with the cursor. This hotspot pixel location must be hardcoded in the Java cursor code in our current design.

Sure. Is a list in tdl format (name x y) ok?

That would be perfect.

Just include the filename and the pixel coordinates for any modified files and it should be easy for us to take care of the rest. Thanks again for working on all of the icons and cursors, you rule!

Here's my effort at replacement banners for the wizards:

In case it's not obvious: the numbered banners will be replaced with a numbered banner equivalent to the example in the image, and the unnumbered banners will all be replaced with the generic banner in the image. The "curlicues" in the image are in fact a Golden Spiral within a Golden Ratio. I thought this was nicely symbolic of the concept of "automated perfection" that the wizard represents.

They're a bit sparse maybe, but IMHO a world better than the hideous crap in the OOo build.

Sure. As soon as djpimley says he is done, that would be great.

djpimley:

Can you provide us a separate zip file for the cursor icons and include a plain txt file with the cursor "hotspot" coordinates (as well as the license file) in that zip file?. The cursor icons need to be separate as they go into a much earlier phase in the NeoOffice build than the application icons do.

NeoOffice Aqua Elements 2.1.1.070707

Notes:

I noticed that the "26x26" and "16x16" folders from my package had been erroneously included in the images.zip in NeoOffice 2.1. I have therefore moved them into a seperate folder - "Akua" - to ensure that they do not get injected into images.zip.

I have placed the 10 new wizard banners in "images/sd/res/" for auto-injection into images.zip.

I have added a few extra toolbar icons in "images/res/commandimagelist" so that the default drawing toolbar will have a complete set of Akua icons, and I have updated 2 of the existing Akua shapes icons. In total there are 8 files in this folder. If I've correctly remembered the order of the images.zip build process, these icons should overwrite the ones in Armando's set.

The intro.bmp, about.bmp, and writer document and template icons have been updated.

NeoOffice Aqua Cursors 2.1.1.070707

Notes:

The GIF files are a mixture of 4-Bit and 8-Bit (only colour icons are 8-Bit).

The hotspots are listed in the text file "hotspots.txt" in a tab delimited list. All hotspots are measured from an origin coordinate of x=1, y=1. Ed, if you require a 0,0 origin you must subtract 1 from all coords.

Ed,

If you can also check in his license and hotspots.txt files in cvs in the same directory as the images, that would be really helpful.

Thanks,

Patrick

OK the cursor icons have been integrated into CVS so anyone that's rebuilding should be able to get those; they should be fine for the next release. There's a couple that we'll probably be fixing backgrounds on (not those that are custom! the defaults that imagemagick converted wrong) but all in all these should rock now.

Dude, kick ass work on the cursors; they look awesome!!
