This afternoon (July 10) at around 3:00 pm California time, I will be taking Trinity down for approximately 1 hour. During that time, Trinity will be inaccessible and you will get an error page to prevent anyone from modify the database while I am working on the database.

During this time, I will be moving Trinity to a new server. Currently, Trinity resides on one of Ed's machines in his home. We are increasing finding that Ed's limited bandwidth to his home is a bottleneck for Trinity users so we have been slowly moving our various websites from the Ed's machines to our new dedicated machines. www.neoffice.org and bugzilla.neooffice.org have both been running on these machines for some time now.

When the database files have been fully moved, the new server will become live when I push a change to DNS that makes trinity.neooffice.org point to our new server. You may find that DNS does not update immediately for you. Please be patient as we have no control as to how fast some DNS servers pick up changes.

You can determine if the DNS change has made it to your local DNS server by executing the following command in an /Applications/Utilities/Terminal window:

Code:
ping trinity.neooffice.org

If you see 206.72.79.247 as the IP address, you are still pointing to the old server. When you see 74.53.111.202 as the IP address, you are pointing to the new server.

got it - 5:15 pm PDT San Diego CA USA

I got URL timeouts about 20-30 minutes ago.
It just took a bit of time for DNS server update for So Cal

Thanks - it "seems" much faster!
