I downloaded and installed OOo on my Mac G4 10.2.8. When I double click to start the app I get a message to locate OroborOSX? I have an OroborOSX folder on drive but no application? Can someone help me??

First, I suggest you read the "Start OpenOffice.org" documentation in the Documentation folder - it will hopefully give you a better understanding of what is going on.

I don't remember if the OOo 1.1.2 for Mac OS X installer automatically installs an "Start OpenOffice.prg" preferences file specifying OroborOSX (on Mac OS X 10.2.x, generally the installer will install OroborOSX for you), but it would seem strange that you have an OroborOSX folder but no application, unless something went wrong in the installation, or you removed the OroborOSX application.

Regardless, you need some kind of X11 Window Server and X11 Window Manager, whether it be OrborOSX, XDarwin, or X11.app - if none of those are currently installed, you will need to install ONE of them first (if you need help on doing this, come back here).

If the installer did in fact automatically install an "Start OpenOffice.org" preferences file (I know it does on Mac OS X 10.3.x), and you want to start fresh, then remove the "Start OpenOffice.org" preferences file ("org.OpenOffice.Start.plist") in your Preferences folder.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Terry
