Hello kind coders:

Is it possible to copy and paste from native Mac OSX apps such as Safari and TextEdit etc. I seem to be having problems. Any guidance much appreciated.

You can copy and paste, but exchange is limited to around 128 characters of text only. The integration between the Mac OS X clipboard and any X11 application is somewhat limited at best and will always be so.

If you really really need clipboard exchange beyond simple text you may want to check out Neo/J which has much better integration with the native clipboard.
