I am a Newbie on this site & not very comp. smart, I own a Notebook with Windows XP Home. I have just about everything changed over to a new IMac 17" that I just bought & could not open some items that I imported. Someone recommended that I D.Load NeoOffice but forgot to ask what kind of Machine I had. It took Me Approx. 15hrs. to D.load(on D-UP) & when I went to install same I got a pop-up saying that it will not work on this machine because it is Intell based, thats it, end of story! |

Go to the NeoOffice download page again, click through the Skip Donation buttons to get to the download links where you originally downloaded NeoOffice the first time.
Once you reach that page, you will see a "PowerPC" and an "Intel" link to choose from. If you are not sure which type of processor your Mac has, click on the "Processor" link just above those two links. That link will take you to instructions for how to determine which processor you have on Apple's website.
Edit: After you determine which processor you have and you click on the "PowerPC" or "Intel" link on our download page, I recommend that you read the "Problems?" section at the bottom of the page. That section has a link to downloading using the cURL tool which, since you are downloading via dialup, is probably a good idea to use as it will allow you to continue downloading where you left off if you lose your internet connection during the download.

Don't worry. We all started out that way. Don't give up and don't worry if you don't understand what your being asked to do. We're here to help and we'll do that one step at a time.
So just start out by trying to follow Patrick's advice about how to establish whether you have an Intel or PowerPC Mac. It gets easier from then on. _________________ Ray Saunders
