Printing and faxing from OOo1.1.1 on Panther 10.3.3

I have Panther 10.3.3 and TechPreview 1.1.1 of OOo. I somehow can't install my DeskJet 1220C for use with OOo, although my Aqua apps print no problem. I use SpAdmin but there is nowhere a driver for 1220C. Besides this there is also this other problem with OOo...

...I have (unsuccessfully) tried to set up faxing from my OOo1.1.1 in Panther 10.3.3. I typed into the Command Line field the following:

/Applications/OpenOffice.org1.1.1/program/soffice {parameter}

Even when I click on Test Page in the main "Printer Administration" window of spadmin, I get the request for a fax number, I enter it, and then I get the message "The test page was printed succesfully (sic). Please check the result." But nothing really happens for me to check.

I don't know if this helps, but I haven't even been able to print from within OOo. What I have been doing is save as Word97/XP, transfer the file to a PC and print from there on my HP DeskJet 1220C.

Please, help!!!

Faxing isn't possible unless you have a fax program that responds like a regular printer driver. The special fax configurations of most print drivers for multifunctions can't be used by OpenOffice.org since it doesn't use the standard Mac OS print system.

Your best bet is to configure up a print command to save to PDF and open with Preview and then fax it from Preview. You can also use the PDF export of 1.1.2 directly to generate your PDF.

For clarification, when I mean "like a normal printer driver" I mean something like FaxSTF. The built-in faxing features in Panther will not work.
