something that still makes me want to use Word: the 2-page view.
I'm using a 24' screen, so working on 2 pages works best for me... can this be implied in NeoOffice?

Short answer is: NO, you can't.
You can preview two facing pages but you can't edit them.

This feature should be requested to the OpenOffice.org project.
The current scope of the NeoOffice project is limited by resources to keeping a native version of OpenOffice.org running on Mac OS X. Improving OpenOffice.org features is outside that scope.

But there is a trick. See here. Hope it works.
